Berlin is located in south central Harford County, the geographical center of Connecticut. Berlin is a rural town with excellent educational and recreational services, appealing residential areas and a strong sense of community.

Reflecting the town's prosperous 18th and 19th century manufacturing days are the carefully restored historic houses on Worthington Ridge. Pleasant neighborhoods throughout the town offer a selection of homes for the community's diverse population. Traditional single family homes are mixed with contemporary residences and charming condominiums.

In addition to the regular academic program, the public school system offers vocational training and evening adult education. Nearby communities add to the employment, entertainment and retail offerings of Berlin's business and commercial center. Easy access to the Berlin Turnpike and Interstate 91 make commuting easy.

The Timberline Golf Course, Sage Park and Ragged Mountain offer residents natural beauty as well as outdoor recreation. Youth athletics, tennis, outdoor swimming and social and cultural happenings are sponsored by the parks and recreation department.

Every autumn since 1949, the Berlin Lion's Club has put on the Berlin Fair. This annual tradition is filled with New England crafts and cooking, agricultural and livestock competitions, and fun.
